It is also linked to the sun and celestial order, as the deer is sometimes depicted carrying the sun on its antlers.

Deer antlers symbolize fertility, the ability to grow and renew, as they are shed and regrown each year. In Latvian folk songs, the deer is mentioned as a noble and powerful animal that often embodies desirable human qualities – grace, endurance, and peace.

Today, the deer remains a powerful symbol of Latvian identity and love for nature, frequently used in art, jewelry, and various festive motifs.
